BIOGRAPHY

Ever since the birth of NWOBHM generation, the actual Heavy Metal style has changed a lot, in a very little time, and consequently several new Rock styles have appeared since then.
The leather clothes, tight pants, chains, long and died hair, and the variety of bands that appeared throughout the 80’s were slowly replaced by bands with a less aggressive style, but not less positive on their attitude.
Having in mind this scenario, DREADNOX was born as a winner, as on the occasion of Guanabara Institute Bands Competition (RIO DE JANEIRO), they finished in first place on their first presentation at Reggae Rock Café. This show may be considered as the beginning of a brilliant career for DREADNOX.
In the following years, after several presentations throughout Rio De Janeiro State, the group acquired great musical experience and got recognized by the underground public.
In 1995, the band recorded its debut demon-tape, entitled "Master Brain", featuring the tracks: "Master Brain", "About You the End", "Last Possibility", "Hunters Of the Lost Time", "The Spell of Keytaro", "Treasures Of Tomb", "It Never Ends" and "Crying for You", being the latter very praised by national and international reviews.
In December of the same year, the band got invited for a Jam Session with André Matos (ex-Angra, current Vocals of Shaaman) and Kiko Loureiro (Angra) at Black Night Blues Bar, where they played Hard Rock classics such as Battle Hymns (Manowar) and Wasted Years (Iron Maiden) in an unforgettable night for the musicians and their fans.
From 1996 on, the band played on Carioca stages such as Garage (in the same night that Dark Avenger – a famous band from Brasília), Circo Voador (again with Dark Avenger), Imperator (with Wizards band - from São Paulo), Tubes (with Angra), and in other Brazilian cities, namely - SP (X Feca – Student’s Song Festival of Americana), where they finished in 4th place and at Uberaba - MG, on a Festival whose public was estimated in more than 2000 people.
Finally, in 1998, the first album of DREADNOX named Divine Act was recorded, showing the maturity and professionalism of the band.

The songs "Time Alone Will Tell", "Loser" and "I'm On My Way" were crucial for having the band invited by some international recorders, such as the Noise Records from Germany, which did the distribution and on-line broadcasting of the album.
In the following years, the band did several other presentations, from which their opening presentation for Angra band, on the occasion of the release of "Firework" album, at Tubes (RJ) stands out.
In the year 2000, the group was at the peak of their career, believing in the competence and ability of their musicians, in the power of the "riffs" of their album, and mainly in the affection and incentive from their fans.
However, the band has met the lack of interest from the Brazilian recorders due to their songs being composed in the English language, not to mention the lack of opportunities for live performances, fact of which hindered a better spreading of their work.
Discouraged, the group decided to finish their musical activities, and each member of the band followed their own ways.
In the middle of the year 2005, after arranging a rehearsal to remember "the old times", the band decided to return alive and kicking, with new ideas, new projects for live presentations and a new album, with the solid purpose of betting on a real opportunity.
